José Roberto Rodrigues Afonso
PhD in Economic Development with Post-Doctorate at the University of Lisbon.
Economist and accountant.
He is an economist and accountant. He has a post-doctorate in Public Administration from the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Lisbon (2020), a doctorate in Economic Development from the State University of Campinas (2010), a master's degree in Economics of Industry and Technology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Janeiro (1984) and a bachelor's degree in Economic Sciences from the Catholic University of Santos (1982). He is currently a professor in the doctorate program in Law at the Instituto Brasiliense de Direito Público - IDP; researcher at the Center for Public Administration (CAPP), at the University of Lisbon: controlling partner of companies in Brazil (Finance Consultoria and Finance Estudos) and in Portugal (3i Ideias and Afonso & Bevilaqua); as well as an independent consultant, including for multilateral organizations. He was superintendent of the Social Economic Development Bank and special technical advisor to the Federal Senate, the Chamber of Deputies and the National Constituent Assembly, as well as a researcher at the Brazilian Institute of Economics of the Getúlio Vargas Foundation - IBRE/FGV. He has experience in the area of Economics, with an emphasis on Income and Taxation, working mainly on the following topics: tax collection, tax reform, fiscal responsibility, public deficit and macroeconomic policy.
