A MASTER'S DEGREE FOCUSED ON THE LABOR MARKET

The market has increasingly demanded qualified professionals, with analytical and practical vision.

One of the main characteristics of MPRI is the teaching methodology, which, in addition to solid theoretical training, pays special attention to the analysis of studies and practical applications of knowledge in the area of ​​International Relations.

Furthermore, the course is held on Fridays and Saturdays, in order to allow the participation of professionals who seek to combine their participation in the master's degree with professional practice.

FACULTY

The main difference of MPRI is, certainly, the qualification of the teaching staff , made up of professors who, in addition to standing out for their high and diverse academic qualifications, are also characterized by a consolidated professional trajectory in the most different areas of activity.

This is a fundamental aspect of the program, as it allows students to expose, analyze and discuss ways of applying the theoretical tools exposed in each of the disciplines to the reality of the job market, which accentuates the professional nature of the course.

AREAS OF INTEREST

The Professional Master's in International Relations is part of the IDP's Postgraduate Program in Political Science and International Relations. The Master's degree has 2 Areas of Interest, in International Politics and International Trade. Furthermore, if interested, students can deepen their knowledge by taking optional subjects also in the Master's Degree in Political Science

Thus, the student has complete freedom to move between the 4 areas of the Program (2 International Relations and 2 Political Science) , choosing the subjects that seem most interesting for their career and academic and personal life.

INTERNATIONAL TRADE, LAW AND DEVELOPMENT

This area of ​​interest is dedicated to the integrated study of the dynamics of international trade and its interactions with law and economic development. Students will be encouraged to explore topics such as international negotiations, trade defense, internationalization of companies, among others.

INTERNATIONAL POLITICS, FOREIGN POLICY AND INSTITUTIONS

Area of ​​interest II focuses on the study of international politics and foreign policy strategies adopted by States on the global stage. Students will investigate how international institutions and global norms influence the behavior of countries, as well as analyze foreign policy decision-making processes.

GOVERNMENT RELATIONS AND POLITICAL RISK

Area III is focused on studying interactions between governmental and non-governmental actors and the impact of these relationships on the political and economic environment. This line of research aims to develop analytical skills to evaluate how government policies, regulatory changes and political events influence markets and the global business environment.

AREA

CITY MANAGEMENT, DEMOCRACY AND DEVELOPMENT

Area IV explores the challenges and opportunities associated with the management of contemporary cities, with a focus on promoting democracy and sustainable development. Issues such as urban planning, financing and fundraising, implementation of public policies, innovation, technology and cities, among others, are addressed.

INTERNATIONAL TITLE

The University of Lisbon (ULisboa) is the largest University in Portugal and one of the largest in Europe. Located in the heart of the city, it offers its entire community one of the best and most diverse training offers and promises to be a unique enriching experience.

In 2023, IDP signed an international agreement with the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Lisbon (ISCSP-ULisboa) that gives our Master's and Doctorate students exclusive access to the Master's in Management and Public Policies at ISCSP-ULisboa. This opens up a unique and exclusive opportunity for students of the IDP Stricto Sensu Programs, who will be able, during the regular completion period of their program, to also obtain an international degree: Master in Management and Public Policies from the University of Lisbon – title valid throughout the European community.
