Humberto Falcão Martins
Master in Public Administration and PhD in Administration.
Public Management Consultant and Founder of the Publix Institute.
He is an exclusive professor at Fundação Dom Cabral in the area of public management, working on topics mainly related to management for results, collaborative management and problem solving. He was a visiting fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Sciences and is a guest professor at the Instituto Brasiliense de Direito Público (IDP). He was a professor at EBAPE/FGV and the University of Brasília. For the last 34 years, he has taught in government schools in Brazil and abroad, having interned at the École Nationale de Santé Publique in France (Rennes, 1998) and at York University (Toronto, 2001). He founded the Publix Institute and ran it for 15 years. Previously, he held executive positions in private companies and public administration, especially in the Ministry of Administration and State Reform and the Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management, where he was Secretary of Management, Brazilian delegate to the OECD Public Management Committee and President of the IDB Public Management and Transparency Network. He belonged to the career of Specialist in Public Policies and Government Management. He is the author of more than 130 publications, including 20 books, speaker, advisor to companies and NGOs and consultant to international organizations. Over the last 20 years, he has developed innovative management methodologies and collaborated on landmark initiatives to transform public management, among the more than 250 in which he has collaborated. He was awarded the ANPAD Public Administration Award, the Hélio Beltrão Medal and the CONSAD Merit in recognition of his work.
