Have you ever stopped to think about how many videos you watch per day? Perhaps this question has never crossed your mind, but just open the feed on any social network to come across the most diverse styles of videos: from an unboxing of the Playstation 5 to a complete report on the elections in the United States.
Maybe at the beginning of YouTube we didn't expect to consume so many videos on the internet, especially because the biggest source of audiovisual information was television. With a new means of reporting comes the need for a new language, as videographers Victor Parolin and Giovanni Sanfilippo in episode 10 of our podcast Toda Mídia.

New platform, new formats
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Time on the internet passes differently than on TV, articles in daily newspapers are on average 3 minutes long, after all they need to fit into a programming schedule. With the consumption of content on the internet, this changed a little, we now have access to longer videos, which paved the way for other formats: short videos of up to one minute, stories, lettering, among others.
The audience's attention on the internet needs other tools besides time to capture it. The formula “supporting images + off + passage” will not always be the best option for an informative video on the internet. That's why large newspapers have specialized in producing videos for the internet, an example is the Folha de S. Paulo YouTube channel which has more than 500 thousand subscribers.

Inform and entertain
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Who has never taken that time to do anything on the internet?! It is very common to open a website to read and/or watch light content that at first glance may seem like just entertainment. You don't have to go far to find stand-up videos, signs, music, cinema, etc.
But even in a moment of relaxation, information consumption can still happen! And many content producers have relied on comical and light language to convey information to the public. A good example of this is the Pipocando channel, in which Rolandinho and Bruno Bock produce videos that entertain and inform more than 4 million subscribers.
