The year 2020 was atypical in several ways. The COVID-19 pandemic brought a series of challenges to educational institutions around the world, which needed to innovate to be able to continue the academic year in the midst of the biggest public health crisis in the last hundred years.
The IDP Postgraduate Program in Public Administration remained firm in its commitment to promoting the dissemination of knowledge, even in the face of the numerous difficulties brought by 2020.
Today, we can look at 2020 as a year of growth for IDP, with great emphasis on the work of its teachers, students and graduates, who were responsible for productions of high relevance for Brazilian public administration.

- Epidemiology of COVID-19 in Rio Grande do Sul. Population-based study and validation of diagnostic tests . In this study with the participation of Professor Leany Lemos, then Secretary of Planning and Management of Rio Grande do Sul, unprecedented data were collected on the spread of COVID-19. The research conducted by Professor Leany Lemos and her team and by the Federal University of Pelotas used data from Brazil and other countries to develop sophisticated epidemiological models of COVID-19 and were highlighted in and international press outlets .
- Gov.br – Single Portal for Federal Government Services and Information . Produced with the participation of Professor Felipe Cruz, the Gov.br portal aims to significantly simplify access to information by Brazilian citizens by centralizing the Federal Government's digital channels on a single website. Given the high complexity of Brazilian public administration, the Gov.br portal is an initiative that increases the effectiveness of the right of access to public services provided by the Brazilian State. The portal is in the testing phase and will be launched in December 2020.
- Privatization of Brazilian airports: a synthetic control approach. Article published in the magazine Economics Bulletin (Qualis A4) by Professor Caio Resende, co-authored with Tiago Caldeira, also from IDP. The article deals with the evaluation of an important public policy: the privatization of airports. It is also worth highlighting the methodological sophistication of the article, which uses the synthetic control method to evaluate the revenue gains arising from the privatization of Brazilian airports.
