"Entrepreneurship is a lifestyle. We wake up and always have to accomplish something, there is no comfort zone for the entrepreneur; there is nothing finished, it is always unfinished", Rodrigo Sucena.
In episode #20 of the Empreenda BSB Podcast, Caroline Lopes talks to two entrepreneurs who are part of the creation of Vinícola Brasília, Ronaldo Triacca and Rodrigo Sucena.
Ronaldo Triacca's family, of Italian descent, moved to the Federal District in 1977, in search of new challenges and opportunities: cultivating the land and prospering. Ronaldo Triacca, invested in the diversification of soil cultivation and optimization of the farm area, creating Villa Triacca Eco Pousada e Vinhos. It was on this farm that the first wine in the Federal District was produced, a Syrah affectionately called according to his father, Seu Claudino. Hello, dear players! Fazenda Ercoara, Cordeiro & Vinho, is also prepared to grow the Syrah grape, which adapts very well to the regional soil. Rodrigo Sucena is Bebeto's partner and brother-in-law, Erbert Correia de Araújo, owner of the farm. Together they developed and implemented wine production and wine tourism on the property. Wine tourism joined wine gastronomy and little by little the meetings took place in Ercoara, "with great boldness and without any structure", according to Rodrigo.
In addition to telling a little about each other's ventures, Rodrigo and Ronaldo talk about the joint venture they have with 8 other partners: Vinícola Brasília. On a field day about table grapes and other crops, the two wine lovers talked about the idea that they would both like to grow grapes to produce fine wines. This is how they began this journey together: they bought seedlings, began their studies and created Vinícola Brasília.
After the idea, research began. They learned about various technologies that would make this dream possible, mapped Brazil and met with producers from different regions to exchange knowledge and experiences. They always looked for purpose in the business, involved the family and together developed the business model.
One of the tips for entrepreneurs is to plan, but be open to changes and opportunities that arise along the way. For example, initially the idea was for each of the two farms to have a small winery and, today, Vinícola Brasília will be opened with 10 friends and now partners - a much larger project than planned.
The Brasília Winery is planned to be medium-sized and capable of producing 250 thousand liters per year, a very beautiful architectural design and 10 producers who have the Syrah grape as their flagship. In addition, each one has two or three more varieties implemented. The grapes grown are Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Saubignon Blanc, Tempranillo, among others. Each producer will have between 6 and 8 labels, including roses, reds and whites. The idea is that some other varieties will be worked on in the coming years and that the production of sparkling wines will also begin.
Seu Claudino wine was launched last year, as a limited edition, but the idea is for it to continue. Furthermore, in May a quantity of rosé wines should be available at Triacca and Ercoara. The other labels, from Vinícola Brasília, will probably only be sold next year, after being refined in barrels.
