CEDIS HAS A SELECTED PANEL AND MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN INTERNATIONAL EVENT
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]CPDP Latam was held in July, a Latin American platform for discussing privacy, data protection and technology. Our director, Danilo Doneda, was part of the organization of this super event that had a tripartite structure.
The first day was dedicated to multisectoral debates. The second day included the
first Latin American MyData Meeting and was dedicated to analyzing innovative approaches and technologies that facilitate data protection. The third day was dedicated to the first Latin American Privacy Law Scholars Conference.

The role of data protection authorities around the world involves making difficult but essential decisions in order to prioritize and maximize their effectiveness.
This panel was moderated by our Director, Laura Schertel and participated by representatives of new data protection authorities and also more experienced authorities, who shared their experiences in applying data protection laws and current privacy challenges.

This panel brought together litigants and researchers, combining practice and theory, for an assessment of this concept. This international data transfer instrument is also provided for in the LGPD. Now we have to monitor the development of its use both here and in the EU.

The closing panel of CPDP LaTam was attended by our directors Laura Schertel and Danilo Doneda and brought a vision for the future, bringing together speakers involved in the different aspects of the challenges and opportunities identified over the three days of the event.
There were debates that brought several reflections on the implementation of data protection rights in Latin America, providing valuable information for future projects, research and policies tailored to Latin America, as well as for future discussions in the next editions of CPDP LatAm.
