March is known worldwide as Women's Month, but since 2018 it has also been the month in which we remember the murder of Marielle Franco, a black, lesbian woman and councilor from the city of Rio de Janeiro who left a mark on the world with her way of doing politics. Recent research has shown that women candidates are the biggest victims of political violence, and in recent months several cases have been exposed in the media of black and trans deputies and councilors being threatened with death. Therefore, we resumed our Cycle of Anti-Racist Debates, starting IDP Consciente 2021, with this dialogue that seeks to elucidate concepts, share experiences of struggle and raise questions about confronting political violence in Brazil.
