1st Research Seminar for Postgraduates in Law of the Midwest
Law in contemporary Brazil: crises, agendas and research perspectives
The 1st Research Seminar for Postgraduates in Law in the Midwest is an initiative of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Programs in Law at the Instituto Brasiliense de Direito Público (PPGD/IDP), whose focus is to promote a democratic and critical space for so that Master's and Doctorate students in Law from the Midwest can debate and qualify their research.
Thus, it is based on the development and results of research in the different stricto sensu postgraduate programs in the area of Law in the Central-West region of Brazil, that we seek to promote debates on social, political and economic issues in the country from their implications legal, based on the sharing of research and its theoretical and methodological accumulations in the disciplinary field of Law.
With the theme “Law in Contemporary Brazil: crises, agendas and research perspectives”, between the 28th and 30th of October, the aim is to instigate critical debates in postgraduate students about the current state of the discipline in the country, commenting on the general panorama of the area and investigating recent advances in matters relating to the field in terms of intellectual production, methodological approaches and objects of research and the science of Law, as well as the ontological and epistemological status and ethics of legal-scientific practice.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, this version of the seminar will be held virtually, so that participants from the region can connect and exchange experiences on their study topics.
