Cedis/ IDP and CIPL (Centre for Information Policy Leadership) announce the start of the project "Implementation of LGPD and harmonization with international data protection regimes", whose objective is to promote debate and produce material related to the challenges of implementing the first general legislation on data protection in Brazil.

The project will bring together stakeholders from industry, government, academia and civil society and, by holding workshops, webinars, technical texts and other initiatives, will promote the consistent and forward-looking implementation of the General Data Protection Law, proposing interpretative models and good practices. The objective is to build bridges between different stakeholders to ensure the success of the new regulation in Brazil, on the global stage and in the digital economy.

The project will be launched with an international workshop to be held in Brasília, at IDP, on September 25th.
