The objective of the course is to clarify the practical and theoretical issues of the General Data Protection Law / Law 13,709, being taught on the 13th and 14th of December, at Rui Barbosa's house in Rio de Janeiro.

As it is a very new law, IDP Doctor and Professor, Laura Schertel Mendes, explains the importance of the course. “Especially because the law was sanctioned on August 14th and has not yet come into force, this is a very new topic for Brazil, so these courses serve to expand the knowledge of the legal community in relation to these topics and debate with different audiences the content of the law”, explains the Professor.

The course will cover topics such as, “Requirements for the Processing of Personal Data”, “Principles of Personal Data Protection and Holder’s Rights”, “Inspection and National Data Protection Authority”, among other essential subjects for people who work, or they just want to know the areas covered by the new law.
