The Bachelor of Laws from IDP and Master's student at
UNB, Isabela Maiolino, received first place in the IBRAC - Brazilian Institute
for Competition, Consumption and International Trade Studies award, in the Postgraduate
/Professional category. IBRAC is a private, non-profit entity that
seeks to promote research, studies and debates on topics
related to the defense of competition, international trade and consumption.
The award-winning work was “AN EMPIRICAL RESEARCH ON INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
IN THE INSTRUCTION OF
TRANSNATIONAL CONCENTRATION ACTS BY CADE”, which presents a brief bibliographical review
on international cooperation between competition defense authorities for
the instruction of transnational mergers, as well as empirical research on
acts analyzed by the Administrative Council for
Economic Defense (Cade), under the aegis of the Law 12,529/11, in which there was

For the graduate, the Institute is concerned about the quality of
the knowledge it produces. “The IDP having a research-focused center (CEPES)
shows concern for quality academic production. It was the
IDP professors who encouraged me from the second semester of the course”
comments the former student.
For Isabela, the IDP was a fundamental part of her career as a researcher. “
IDP is my alma mater. It was there that I graduated, I realized that I want to work
in research and pursue an academic life.” explains the Master's student.
Today, Isabela says she wants to give back some of what she learned at the Institution, and
like other former students, she helped found ALUMNI - Association of Students and Former
Students of the Brasília School of Law, and acts as its president. “I owe a lot to
IDP and that is precisely why I and other colleagues formed
ALUMNI to promote a return to the institution.” concludes Isabela.
