IDP organizes Workshop on the General Data Protection Law
Event seeks to discuss the General Law on Data Protection and Amendments proposed to MP 869
IDP and Cedis - Center for Law, Internet and Society - are preparing the Workshop "General Data Protection Law and MP 869" on Friday, February 22nd. The workshop aims to present an analysis of the new personal data protection legislation (LGPD), helping participants, whether entrepreneurs, interested parties, lawyers and managers working in technology areas, how to adapt to the new legislation.
Among the confirmed speakers are experts who work directly in the area, such as the Doctor in Communication and Culture Policies, Miriam Wimmer, the lawyer Fabrício da Mota Alves, the Doctor in Civil Law and IDP Professor Danilo Doneda and the IDP Professor and Doctor in Private Law, Laura Schertel.
For one of the workshop coordinators and IDP Professor, Laura Schertel, the event is of great importance to stakeholders and workers in the area. “The idea of the workshop is to discuss the fundamentals of data protection, as well as the architecture of the General Data Protection Law. With this, participants will not only be able to reflect on the central elements of this topic, but also apply them in their respective entities or companies to assist in the processes of adapting to the law”, explains the Professor.
Danilo Doneda, who also coordinates the event, states that the workshop "will also analyze the changes brought about by the Provisional Measure that created the Data Protection Authority and made several changes to the law, as well as the amendments that were presented to modify it The LGPD is still an open process and the implications of its changes must be studied to gain a greater understanding of the Brazilian data protection model”, concludes the Doctor.
Various aspects of the law will also be discussed at the event, such as the foundations and scope of the law. application, principles and rights of the holder, responsibility of agents, international aspects, security and privacy by design, sanctioning system and the National Data Protection Authority. It will also be discussed how to interpret the LGPD in conjunction with the relevant legislation, such as the Marco Civil. of the Internet, the Consumer Protection Code and the Positive Registration Law.
