IDP promotes mini-course Judicial Activism and Constitutional Dialogues
IDP promotes short course focused on “judicial activism and constitutional dialogues”. The classes of the course will debate the juristocracy to the profile of the Brazilian Public Defender's Office. The course is focused on free graduates and will take place on June 25 and 26 at IDP.
For Professor and Public Defender of the Federal District Ramiro Sant`Ana, the event becomes relevant because it addresses current issues. “Increasingly, social policies present difficulties for citizens in accessing these policies that take place in various areas, such as social security, social assistance, housing, education, transport. Of all the systems organized to offer social rights, the single health system, the SUS, is the best completed in its federative cooperation, guidelines and objectives. So studying the judicialization of health is studying the interface between Law and social policy, which is more important today, whether because health policy is the most structured and organized at the federative level, but also because it is the branch of judicialization that has grown the most” , explains the Teacher.
The growth of the area is one of the factors that contribute to the importance of the topic, explains the professor. “The growth of judicialization is exponential, reaching in the past more than 1 and a half million actions and perhaps this year, or next year, it will reach 2 and a half million in progress throughout Brazil. So studying the judicialization of health is studying an area of law that is growing rapidly and also a judicialization that will help to understand other areas, such as education and social assistance", concludes the Defender.
