IDP student participates as a referee in the Vis Moot
The postgraduate student, Larissa Oliveira, participated in her academic exchange at IDP at the University of Rome Tre, in the largest international arbitration competition in the world, VIS Moot. The competition took place in Vienna during April. At VIS Moot, the referees work with problems on international commercial law.
For the student, the experience in the competition helped expand her horizons. “Arbitration gave me not only the knowledge but the desire to add to the world and enable an amicable solution between the parties. In a competitive world, win-win solutions are the best and arbitration as well as mediation and conciliation are the methods that I see as specific in the society in which we live. More autonomy for the parties”, explained the Student.
For IDP's academic coordinator, Lahis Rosa, this type of experience helps the student's academic and professional growth. “Legal competitions are extremely relevant for the differentiated training of students, in this exercise the student develops skills such as public speaking, argumentation, organization and also has the opportunity to expand their network of contacts. The experience is transformative for the students and for the institution” concludes the Professor.
Congratulations, Larissa! IDP believes that internationalization is a fundamental part in the student's professional academic education and therefore always seeks to offer a wide range of opportunities for those who seek.
