IDP student launches autobiography
The second semester student of law degree, Lucas Pires, launched the book “Metaphysics of the clichés” during the XIII IDP Scientific Initiation Week. In the book, the student addresses remarkable moments of his life and the importance of following his dreams.
Lucas explains that the inspiration for writing the book was to encourage other people to follow their hearts. “The idea of writing 'Metaphysics of Clichés' came to me when I realized that I was fulfilling my dream of studying law and living here in Brasília. I realized that it made a lot of sense to fight for what I believed in and convey this to people who haven't yet realized that they are capable of getting to where they want to be, especially people who come from humble origins and without many opportunities like me”, explains the student.
The Student says that he went a long way to publish the book until he received encouragement from the IDP. “With the material in hand, I selected a list of the biggest publishers in Brasília and Brazil, and sent it, full of hope and good faith. And I did it periodically for about 3 or 4 months. It was then that I decided to seek help from IDP, more specifically from Vitor Bezerril, my eternal monitor from the first semester. I told Vitor my whole story and my intention to help people who, like me, dreamed big, he embraced the project with me and connected me with people at IDP like Lahis, the Graduation coordinator”, concludes the Writer.
IDP Professor and PhD in Language Studies, Olivia Rocha Freitas, was one of the people who encouraged Lucas to publish his book and talks about the importance of young people entering this market. “Maturity and the sum of life experiences make us better people, so the sooner Lucas launches himself into the world of literature, he will be able to hone his talent and improve his techniques”, concludes the Doctor.
IDP always seeks to promote students' improvement to enable them to explore their maximum potential. It is with great joy that we welcome such talented students who contribute greatly to the improvement of both themselves and the Institution. Congratulations, Lucas! You contribute to our history.
