Webinar – National Data Protection Authority: From the Letter of the Law to Practical Implementation

Continuing the Special Project “Implementation and Effective Regulation of the General Personal Data Protection Law (LGPD)”, organized by the IDP's Law, Internet and Society Center (CEDIS-IDP) and the Center for Information Policy Leadership (CIPL), We would like to invite you to participate in our 3rd Webinar, which will take place next Thursday, August 20 from 10am to 12pm (Brasília time).
An integral part of a series of events linked to the project, the objective of the event is to debate the need to create an effective ANPD, in order to guide society and public and private companies on their actions. The speakers will analyze the priority aspects to be observed by the ANPD, to optimize its initial resources and obtain more effective results for the protection of personal data in Brazil.

At the event, the white paper written jointly by the Center for Information Policy Leadership (CIPL) and the Center for Law, Internet and Society of the Instituto Brasiliense de Direito Público's (CEDIS-IDP) will be launched, on “The role of the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) in accordance with the new General Personal Data Protection Law (LGPD)”.

The text highlights the need for the Brazilian government to establish the ANPD immediately, in order to guide society on its application. Based on a detailed analysis of the LGPD and its standards that require greater concreteness and specification, the report analyzes priority aspects to be considered by the ANPD, in order to optimize its initial resources and obtain the most effective results for data protection. personnel in Brazil.
The report is the first in a series of texts and materials, to be produced under the joint project between CIPL and CEDIS-IDP on the “implementation and effective regulation of LGPD”. The project aims to assist the consistent implementation of the General Data Protection Law by promoting debates and sharing information and good practice. For this, the project has the participation of data protection experts in Brazil and the world, as well as representatives of companies, law firms, public sector and civil society.
