The Privacy and Data Protection in Superior Courts research group aims to explore the interpretation and application of Brazilian Superior Courts, in particular the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), with regard to protection of personal data. Based on an analysis of relevant Court decisions, the group seeks to understand the maturity of the General Data Protection Law (LGPD) and the recognition of data protection as a fundamental right, investigating the trends and challenges in this area. In this way, the group intends to contribute to the strengthening of a solid legal approach centered on privacy, with the potential to influence practices in the public and private sectors, and consolidating a more robust and modern legal basis in Brazil.
