Second day of the IDP Experience will debate Hot Topics – Criminal Law and Criminal Policy
Event seeks to bring students closer to high school, with current topics in law and worldwide.
This Friday, March 29th, IDP will hold the second day of the IDP Experience. This event will discuss four current topics in criminal law, such as the prison system, over-incarceration, drugs and weapons possession. Just like the first IDP Experience, the event will start at 3pm and end at 6pm, and the event is free.
Within the event, high school students will have contact with professionals who deal directly with the criminal system, such as the Vice - President of OAB - DF, Master in Law and Lawyer, Cristiane Damasceno, Master in Criminal Law and Lawyer , Paulo Emílio Catta Preta, PhD in Criminal Law and Advisor to the National Council of Criminal and Penitentiary Policy of the Ministry of Justice, Maria Gabriela Peixoto and the Public Defender of the DF Reinaldo Rosseno.
For the coordinator of the IDP Experience project, Daniel Prates, the second day seeks to bring students closer to issues that directly influence our daily lives. “ In our second IDP Experience activity - Hot Topics: Criminal Law and Criminal Policy -, we hope that students learn about the reality of topics that, at times, may seem distant, but that certainly influence our lives. The prison issue, the drug policy and the regulation of firearms are issues that are much closer to people than we can imagine and by understanding them better, the student will be better prepared to understand our society and the consequences of every choice we make” Explains the Professional.
