IDP IS ALWAYS AWARE OF ITS SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Aware of its social responsibility, IDP develops actions with the mission of disseminating academic knowledge and contributing to the reduction of inequalities, such as the Legal Training Course for High School, Public Administration Training Course for High School and the Training in General Theory of Public Law aimed at university students. All of the Institute's training courses are free and ask for donations as a form of registration, which are subsequently sent to charity. Entities such as Vila do Pequenino Jesus, Casa da Mãe Preta do Brasil and Casa de Ismael are among the institutions benefiting.

Responsibilities for social inclusion, as well as the sustainability and well-being of the community are strategic targets for the Institute, which collects donations at prominent events it holds, such as lectures, seminars and conferences. The traditional International Congress of Constitutional Law, for example, is one of the main means of fundraising, as it brings together participants from all over the country and abroad. In lieu of the fee, congressmen make donations of food, hygiene products, among others, during the registration process. On the other hand, the events reiterate the Institute's social responsibility by being open to the academic community.

This engagement is reiterated by the Institute's stance on remaining accessible to society, which includes free public access to the IDP library facilities and its collection made up of books, e-books, periodicals, reference documents and databases. of data. The Institute has a Digital Library, which constitutes a research support tool that facilitates contact with internal academic and scientific production.

Another social initiative promoted by IDP is the Solidarity Extension project, through which students not only collect and deliver donations to institutions with the most varied focuses of social action, but also participate in inclusion actions by holding awareness lectures of rights, survey of any existing legal demands or even legal guidance itself.

Along the same lines, the Institute develops a legal-social extension program in partnership with the Special Civil and Criminal Court of Núcleo Bandeirante, an administrative region of the Federal District. Through the project, students act as voluntary conciliators to meet the needs of the local community.

The IDP also provides free legal assistance at the Papuda Penitentiary Complex and the Federal District Women's Prison. It also promotes other activities such as donation campaigns for inmates and scholarships for those leaving the penitentiary system.

“SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE INSTITUTION” SEAL

The IDP received the “Socially Responsible Institution” seal from the Brazilian Association of Higher Education Supporters (ABMES), for four consecutive years (2012-2015). With this gesture, ABMES certifies the higher education institutions that participated in the Private Higher Education Social Responsibility Day campaign. This commitment to education and society, recognized by constant social actions and the seal below, is one of IDP's hallmarks.

Notably an institution committed to society and engaged in its social role. Here, several social actions are developed, with the mission of disseminating academic knowledge and contributing to reducing inequality. Commitments to sustainability, social inclusion and community well-being are also strategic targets for the Institute.

Among these actions, the following stand out:

Training Course in General Theory of Public Law – offered every six months as a free extension course, it aims to contribute to the training of Law students, by providing in-depth debate on specific topics relating to Public Law. Its main objective is to contribute to the technical and ethical training of law students from the various higher education institutions in the Federal District.

Legal Training Course for Secondary Education – aims to offer basic knowledge about rights and duties to young people recently leaving secondary education institutions. With this free, biannual course, the Institute proposes the discussion of fundamental legal issues, necessary for any citizen to know.

Entities such as Vila do Pequenino Jesus, Casa da Mãe Preta do Brasil and Casa de Ismael are among the charities benefiting from these donations.

Events such as the Brasiliense Congress of Constitutional Law, seminars on different topics and lectures with Brazilian and foreign guests also collaborate with these campaigns, by collecting donations in their registration processes.

The virtual collection of the Brazilian Institute of Education, Development and Research brings together documents resulting from its cultural, technical and scientific activities, as well as the doctrinal production of its students and teachers.

LEGAL APPRENTICE PROGRAM

IDP is a partner in the Legal Apprentice Program, aimed at preparing and inserting young people into the world of work. The Legal Apprentice is an apprenticeship program that is based on Law 10,097/2000. The Institute contributes to the training of autonomous young people, who know how to read the world in new ways, make decisions and intervene positively in society. We believe that it is the shared responsibility of the State, society, family and young people themselves to strengthen their self-esteem and their status as citizens through work.
