The proposal of the Study Group “Social Movements and Human Rights” is to promote dialogues based on theoretical references about the subcategories that make up what we usually call social movements.
The 2013 protests that took place in Brazil, with the presentation of demands spread across diffuse groups and the questioning of the model of social representation exercised through political leaders, brought new perspectives to the Brazilian tradition of popular participation since before the constitution.
It is based on these elements that the trajectory of the study group will be organized to offer students an interdisciplinary perspective in their graduation and training process.
