CEDIS, in partnership with CIPL, has just launched the third article of the Special Joint Project “Effective LGPD”. This project aims to: facilitate the sharing of information about the LGPD; inform and promote its implementation in a constructive, prospective and consistent way; enable the sharing of industry experiences and best practices; and promote effective regulatory strategies.

This article addresses these challenges by drawing on the experience and best practices of mature multinational organizations subject to the obligation to appoint a data controller under other data protection laws. The ultimate objective of this Article is to assist: i. Organizations to understand the importance of the role of the person in charge within the scope of the LGPD and the relevant aspects that must be considered when creating the role of the person in charge in the organization; and ii. The ANPD to effectively address the concerns and challenges of organizations when drafting its complementary rules on the duties of the person in charge.
