EFFICIENCY AND PRODUCTIVITY ANALYSIS
Using tools known as Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA), we seek to discuss and analyze efficiency in various sectors such as banking, civil aviation, among others. In the same way, we seek to estimate the occurrence of social phenomena such as traffic deaths on federal highways.
ECONOMY, INSTITUTIONS AND DEVELOPMENT
Public resources are scarce and decisions about how to use them must be based on an understanding of how well public programs and policies produce the desired results. This is precisely the objective of this research project: to analyze and understand the main determinants of economic development, as well as the role of the State in this process. In this context, research is developed involving Macroeconomics, Economic Growth, Fiscal Federalism, Evaluation of Public Policies and Social Programs and Regional Development.
REGIONAL EVIDENCE OF OKUN'S LAW FOR BRAZILIAN STATES AND SPILLOVERS BETWEEN NEIGHBORING STATES
The project will seek to identify evidence of Okun's Law for Brazilian states. To do this, we will use unemployment and gross domestic product data from the twenty-seven Brazilian federative states that make up the five regions of the country - south, southeast, center west, north and northeast -. After estimating the Okun coefficient in each of these states, the SARMA (spatial autoregressive and moving average) methodology will be used to verify the spillovers - commonly called spillovers in the literature - of production and employment that occur between these states. With this, the sensitivity that the production of each unit of the federation has in relation to its unemployment can be identified, as well as the connectivity that exists between the economies of these units.
FINANCE
The project seeks to provide professionals and those interested in economics and finance with academic applications in economic theory, public and private finance and the financial system. To this end, the master's student is presented with the most recent theories and applications in the field of credit, currency and interest policies, as well as the tools and instruments commonly used in financial administration and project evaluation, valuations, asset pricing, forecasting and transfer of volatility between assets.
LAW AND ECONOMICS, REGULATION AND COMPETITION
The research project is carrying out academic articles that involve strategies in Law and Economics and Regulatory Impact Assessments. Understands Law and Economics in order to present the student with a set of theories and instruments that allow them to see the legal system and the implementation of public policies from a new perspective, as well as understand and reflect on their legal, economic and social consequences. This is a unique opportunity to develop interdisciplinary research, applying concepts from Law, Economics, Management, Sociology, among other fields of knowledge. Regulation and Competition is part of the debate regarding the regulatory State and promoter of economic development in the context of a free market economy. It thus seeks to provide the student with a set of theoretical and practical knowledge that allows them to understand the logic behind state intervention through regulation, as well as reflect on its consequences on agents' behavior, through impact assessments.
CENTER OF INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCHERS (NPI)
In addition to a highly prolific faculty, the IDP also has institutional researchers linked to the Master's in Economics who are committed to high-quality intellectual production. These researchers, in addition to assisting postgraduate students in the process of publishing their articles, also work on providing specific methodology guidance to students in the phase of preparing their research project for qualification. We list below some of the bibliographical productions authored by these researchers published in the last four years.

The IDP has a policy to promote teaching productivity, which includes the payment of remuneration bonuses to teachers who have articles published in journals qualified by CAPES or other prominent journals in the area of Economics. This policy also provides for financing expenses for participation in national and international congresses. Through these incentives, IDP seeks to stimulate excellent scientific production by its professors, taking part in cutting-edge debates in academia.
